How a functional farm became a nonprofit.

Hickory Top Farm

Hickory Top Farm is a 80-acre horse farm in Eastover, South Carolina. It was established around 1970, and has served this community for generations, introducing many people to the joys and benefits of horsemanship.

Carolina Therapeutic Riding

Carolina Therapeutic Riding was established in 2019 as a nonprofit organization offering specialized therapeutic riding and horsemanship lessons for people facing unique life challenges, but without a permanent home.

In 2022, Carolina Therapeutic Riding purchased Hickory Top Farm.

The purchase gives a permanent home to the therapeutic riding services and brings a renewed vision to the future of Hickory Top Farm, with room to grow and expand programs into the future.

We are honored to be the next stewards this amazing legacy.

Our vision is to re-establish Hickory Top Farm as a center of excellence in horsemanship, serving riders of all abilities. It is the perfect place to continue our mission: transforming health and well-being through the horse-human relationship.
